Laura Zabo - Ethical Clothing Greenwich
Laura Zabo is an independent ethical clothing label in Greenwich, South East London. Founded on the principles of environmental awareness and sustainability, Laura Zabo is an ethical clothing label dedicated to preventing pollution and celebrating innovative ways of recycling resources.
Wanting to do more than just ingrain sustainability in her own lifestyle, Laura began producing inventive accessories from 'waste' materials such as bike tyres and inner tubes. Think belts, bags, ear rings and more... These quickly became popular with environmentalists, cyclists and vegans alike; all of whom appreciate the skill and innovation that has gone into each handcrafted item. Now, you don't have to betray your principles when choosing to dress fashionably. You'll also benefit from the durability, strength and comfort of her designs.
The abundance of rubbish is a tremendous problem for us and our planet. If we want our grandchildren to experience the same beauty we are able to experience today, we need to make more room for ideas that help us get rid of, or transform, our 'waste', instead of producing more and more.
Inspired by the items made by the Maasai for sale in the markets in Tanzania, Laura realized that she could create beautiful fashion that would also use materials destined to be thrown away, take generations to break down, and/or poison the Earth. Now we can not only save, but also celebrate, these tyres and tubes!
