Manze's is an independent pie & mash shop in Deptford, South London. Serving traditional pie & mash, with licker or gravy, and eels (both jellied and stewed), the Manze shops were originally founded my Michele Manze and have been satisfying South Londoners for over a century.
With its incredible, beautifully preserved, fully-tiled interiors and their simple food offering, there's something about Manze's that expresses the history, tradition and spirit of times past; a time when all South Londoners regularly partook of a pie and mash dinner.
Over the course of the last 100 years, the Manze's empire has changed somewhat, with many of the previous premises being split away from the family and sold off. Manze's of Deptford is currently owned by George, of the Manze family line, and is separate from others across South London.
Perfect for eating in, taking away, Manze's pies are cooked quickly and are quite literally a 'meal in a moment' - ideal for the demands of modern life.
