Poptata is an independent chip shop in Croydon, South London. Poptata began in May 2015 as a temporary gazebo at Portobello Road market. Founders Marco and Luc wanted to share their passion for fries with Londoners and now have a permanent spot at Boxpark Croydon and Portobello Road.
What Poptata have brought to London is a snack time revolution; one that has, until now, been popular on the continent but has eluded our fair Island. Enjoy perfectly crispy fries and choose from a plethora of sauces & toppings sure to tickle your tastebuds.
Committed to principles of uniqueness, quality and simplicity, the team at Poptata serve more than just chips in a cone. They serve an easy, filling, portable, tasty snack to be shared with friends, or scoffed alone.
Sourcing all their potatos from British farmers makes it easy to be sure of quality; only the finest spuds -not too waxy & not too floury- are prepped and served. The potatoes are peeled and cut by hand before being fried twice at different temperatures - essential for getting the fries crunchy on the outside yet fluffy and flavoursome on the inside.
