Curzon Goldsmiths: Cinema In New Cross
Curzon Goldsmiths is an exciting new cinema based in New Cross, South London. As the name suggests, Curzon Goldsmiths is a collaboration between Curzon Cinemas Ltd. and Goldsmiths University. Combined to provide the people of New Cross with an unparalleled cinematic experience, the second of it's kind in London South of the river, this new cinema is quite different from the chain-cinemas we've been stuck with until now. Nothing like the enormous old Victorian cinema opposite, now the site of the infamous Venue, Curzon Goldsmiths (and the Curzon Cinemas group in general) run their cinemas a little differently...
They pride themselves on having a varied appeal; some come for the comfort, others come for the audio-visual quality, others still come for the location. One underlying reason that people visit, however, is due the films selected for screening, which are a mixture of genres from a variety of producers. Their history began when the founder, Curzon Harold Wingate, began importing films from around the world in post-war London. Since then, they have become synonymous with intriguing showings, fantastic atmosphere and well stocked bars.
Open to all, the Curzon Goldsmiths collaboration is a state of the art 101 seat auditorium with a 4k lumen projector and Dolby 7.1 sound.
