Thanks to the contingent of Portuguese-speaking African nations here in South London, Kizomba Addiction are host to some of the biggest weekly Kizomba parties in London. Adapted from a music genre that was born in the late 1970s PALOP nations (Angola, Sao Tome e Principe, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde), these Kizomba parties are described by Syed as an experience where “Africa meets the world”.

The classes and parties themselves are attended by a diverse mix of people from different backgrounds and cultures who have come together to indulge in the romantic, passionate dance form that is Kizomba.

Syed, the business owner and class organiser, has designed a syllabus that ensures all students develop a strong foundation in order to progress and integrate with more experienced dancers after only a few sessions. The Kizomba Addiction team are committed to teaching students to dance smoothly and elegantly, with balance, musicality, movement and connection in every step. This, they say, helps to build an understanding of the themes that underpin the Kizomba world.
