Good Hope: Cafe In Hither Green
Good Hope was set up by the family and friends of Jimmy Mizen who was tragically murdered one day after his 16th birthday in May 2008. The café aims to provide financial assistance to the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, a place of work for local young people as well as be a community hub for Hither Green.
The café opened in 2010 and serves freshly made coffee, loose-leaf teas, cakes, sandwiches and more to the local community. Situated near the top of Hither green Lane, it is a friendly, community based project which hosts music events and garden party's in support of the local community.
In March 2011, the café was fortunate to have their Garden renovated by Diarmuid Gavin and his garden angels, as part of ITV This Morning. In February 2012 Good Hope welcomed HRH the Prince of Wales as well as a number of young people from local community organisations. The café is also a CitySafe Haven set up by London Citizens as a response to Jimmy’s death, and therefore provides it’s premises to any young person who feels they made be in direct danger.
Sporting a range of freshly cooked food, they have menus for breakfast, brunch, and general snacking.
